Nokia Ovi Suite 3 Released

Nokia has released version 3 of its Ovi Suite. This version is fully compatible with only some select Nokia phones. For phones which are not fully compatible you can only utilize some of the functionality of the suite. The suite features a picture, video and music browser for Nokia phones and pc. It offers synchronisation of contacts between phones and pc with the ability to edit your contacts in your pc.Messages on your phone can also be viewed in the suite just like the good old Nokia pc suite. The in built music player of the suite has an audio output similar to those other music players for pcs in my opinion. Once online you are taken to the Ovi store which displays suggested content for your phone if it is supported by the suite. The suite also checks online for any updates for your phone software i.e. An upgrade to the software which your phone operates on.

Before you install that Antivirus Programme

There are so so many pc antivirus programmes out there to choose from. Some of the common ones include Avira,Avast,AVG, Bit defender, Eset Nod 32 and Smart Security,Kaspersky,Norton and Trend Micro antivirus. All the antiviruses listed have their individual pros and cons but here are a few tips to have at the back of your mind when selecting an antivirus programme.
1.Consider your RAM(Random Access Memory):if your computer has a large ram of say about 2GB then you should have no problems using any of the earlier listed antivirus progarammes. But if your RAM is 1GB or less then you may want to consider installing an antivirus programme which doesnt use so much of your RAM. From experience ESET Nod 32 and Smart Security and Avira fit well into this category.Others may also do the same but havent tried them yet. Beware of antivirus programmes that use up so much RAM cos they will slow your computer down.

2. The Reliability of Your Internet Connection and the Size of Updates: If you live in Nigeria like moi you may experience problems like slow internet connections or dropping of the line or modems disconnecting on their own accord. You may want to consider an antivirus programme that has small update files which means a shorter update time.If the Antivirus programme uses large update files then it may not be the best choice for you because you may end up losing some megabytes from your Data bundle in case the internet connection drops or you may end up spending so much time waiting for your antivirus to be updated. Although the initial update of Eset Nod32 and Smart Security is somewhat large usually less than 30MB, Subsequent updates if done regularly are usually far less usually less than 5MB if updated on a daily basis. If you have a reliable and fast internet connection you may use any of the antivirus programmes even the ones that use large update files which may be up to 80MB.

3. This final consideration comes in handy if your system is already infected with a virus. if you install an antivirus that doesnt discrimate between files that are vital to system booting and functioning you could end up with unfortunate consequences like system failing to boot after the antivirus begins to act.i had an unfortunate incident with one of the antivirus programmes a few years back i ended up with a system that couldnt boot.
you can share your views also on which antivirus programme you would recommend and your experiences with the antivirus programme you are currently using

THE WAR OF THE MOBILE BROWSERS

The world of mobile internet browsing is currently witnessing a revolution of immense proportions. initially the mobileweb was dominated by the opera mini browser with its easy to use user interface and the options of streamlining the content you receive on your mobile device such as turning off pictures and the mobile view.this feature of the opera mini browser allowed users on limited data plans to save cost while surfing the net. Now with the release of OPERA MINI 5 which supports tabbed browsing and multiple downloads with a nice download manager, the world of mobile browsing was taken to a whole new level. Opera mini 5 also has a speed dial feature so that you can easily access your favourite sites with just one click when you open up the browser.
here comes the interesting part bitstream technologis recently brought the game to opera mini with the upgrades to their bolt browser which spots interesting new features such as video streaming, web applets, nice rendering in full screen of sites such as facebook, download manager which supports multiple downloads like opera mini and other cool features. the good thing about the bolt browser unlike the opera mini browser it seems to have more compatibility with older versions which run earlier versions of java.the interesting thing about both browsers is that they are both free to use. so what are you waiting for go try them out.you can get bolt browser on facebook while opera community exists for the users of opera mini.
the battle has gotten tougher as the research and development team for bolt has made some serious improvements on the bolt browser with bolt 2.3 with tabbed browsing, support for html 5.0 streaming and many other new features. now bitstream technologies have released bolt 2.5 with better image rendering and other improvements on version 2.5.

however the opera team has not been sleeping they have release opera mini 4.3 and opera mini 6 for symbian phones. the opera mini 6 for symbian phones is a much awaited developement for symbian v2 phones such as the 6630, 6600.
